SWEET collaboratively identifies gaps in service options to address the distinct barriers experienced by sex workers in Calgary in accessing affordable, sex worker allied services for mental health and social wellbeing. 

Our Approach

SWEET seeks to address barriers at the individual, interpersonal, community, and policy levels. We recognize health and wellbeing as dimensional & socially determined: Individuals engage in environments that influence their life outcomes.

Who we are

SWEET is designed by sex workers to support safety & self-determination for people who have sex industry work experience. Experts recommend supporting sex worker-led, resilient, & evidence-based approaches.

What we do

We improve access to mental health, legal, financial and social services by developing a Sex Worker Service Provider Directory; a tool to  foster service provider and end user trust based on shared values, knowledge, data sharing and championing mutuality.

Why we do it

We are uniquely positioned to build relationships with and between sex workers and mental health and social service providers in Calgary to address the legitimate barriers that prevent sex workers from accessing these services.
