Support safety & self-determination
Our Approach
SWEET seeks to address barriers at the individual, interpersonal, community, and policy levels. We recognize health and wellbeing as dimensional & socially determined: Individuals engage in environments that influence their life outcomes.
Who we are
SWEET is designed by sex workers to support safety & self-determination for people who have sex industry work experience. Experts recommend supporting sex worker-led, resilient, & evidence-based approaches.
What we do
We improve access to mental health, legal, financial and social services by developing a Sex Worker Service Provider Directory; a tool to foster service provider and end user trust based on shared values, knowledge, data sharing and championing mutuality.
Why we do it
We are uniquely positioned to build relationships with and between sex workers and mental health and social service providers in Calgary to address the legitimate barriers that prevent sex workers from accessing these services.
